Representing Trade Associations and Other Non-Profit Groups
Mr. Rosenberg has been involved with trade associations and other non-profit organizations for over 20 years, and has represented those groups in a number of activities, including formation, filing for federal non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, structuring proper organizational documents, and other governance matters. As a Washington, D.C. based attorney, he is also able to advise them about the impact of proposed or enacted legislation, the effects of agency regulations on their members and other matters of importance.
Mr. Rosenberg has been particularly active in the early education industry. He was a founding member of the National Child Care Association, and served for many years as a part of the Board of Directors of NCCA. In 2009, he was named General Counsel to the Association, and continues his active legal advising of this group, which is the largest trade association representing proprietary early education and child care centers in the United States. He was also a founder and Commissioner of the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation Commission (NECPA) which accredits early childhood programs throughout the United States.
As an advisor to trade associations, Mr. Rosenberg takes a substantial interest in the business of the members of those associations, providing legal advice and counseling in a variety of issues. For example, in the early education industry, he has handled a number of matters involving licensing issues, and other legal matters. In his capacity as counsel to the Maryland State Family Child Care Association, he served as litigation counsel in an important lawsuit against the Governor of Maryland contesting the Governor's ability to issue an Executive Order unionizing family child care providers. |
